The Ursa Major Award, which is also more formally known as the Annual Anthropomorphic Literature and Arts Award, is an annual award given out to artists and writers for excellence in the furry arts. It is the Furry Fandom's equivalent to the Science Fiction Fandom's prestigious Hugo Award�, the Mystery Fandom's Anthony Award, the Horror Fandom's Bram Stoker Award, etc. This year Daniel Keller of Project Destiny Studios™, has had 3 of his published illustrations listed on the 2007 Recommended Anthropomorphics List for the Ursa Major Awards, and he could really use your nominataion! Nominations for the Ursa Major Awards are NOW OPEN and run until February 28th, so please make your nominations as soon as you can! Daniel Keller works extremely hard on creating the best most entertaining artwork that he can every year, and he would be deeply appreciative of any support or recognition that he receives for his efforts!

How to Nominate Daniel Keller for an Ursa Major Award:

First, you must enroll your e-mail address with the Ursa Major Award website to be able to make your nominations. To enroll, please enter your e-mail address into the online form at the Ursa Major Awards Enrollment Page where it says "Get Enrollment Key."
An enrollment key will be sent to the e-mail address that you specified on the online form. Either follow the link given to you in the e-mail, or enter your enrollment key into the text box on the Ursa Major Awards Enrollment Page.
You will be brought to a webpage where you can fill out your name, address, country, and your nominations for each award category. You must fill in at least your real name and your country into the form-- the Ursa Major Awards doesn't accept anonymous nominations. Choose up to 5 works that you would like to see nominated in each category, and if you would like to nominate any of Daniel Keller's drawings for the "Published Illustration" category, you can find a list of the drawings that are eligible for nomination either on the Ursa Major Awards 2007 Recommended Anthropomorphics List or any drawing that is listed as having been published in 2007 in the Commissioned and Published Artwork Gallery on Daniel Keller's website.

The Project Destiny Studios™ Microsoft Agent Plug-in for Mozilla Firefox now officially supports Firefox 2.0! The plug-in has currently been released to be used with the brand new 2.0.0.7 version of Firefox, and might work with other Firefox 2.0.0.x releases as well. This plug-in allows you to see Microsoft Agent characters (such as Project Destiny Studios's own "Foxee™" Microsoft Agent Character) on websites in Mozilla Firefox when these Agent characters are controlled using JavaScript. Before this plug-in was developed only Microsoft Internet Explorer users could see Microsoft Agent characters on websites, so this plug-in helps to further close the gap between the capabilities of Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer!

In addition, Project Destiny Studios is proud to report that new releases of the plug-in will now be a lot more rapid and frequent. This because Project Destiny Studios now has a fully functional Mozilla build environment in-house, and can compile all of the Mozilla source code required for the plug-in locally instead of relying on third-parties to do it. Every one of these illustrations is eligible to be nominated for an Annual Anthropomorphic Literature and Arts Award (a.k.a. "Ursa Major Award"), which is the Furry Fandom's equivalent to the Science Fiction Fandom's prestigious Hugo Award. A drawing made by Daniel Keller of Project Destiny Studios is going to be published in the DucKon XV Science Fiction Convention Saturday Newsletter! The DucKon XV Science Fiction Convention's theme for this year was "Beware the Ides of Duck!" To go along with that theme, the drawing that Daniel Keller created for the newsletter shows Foxee™, the arctic blue fox, dressed up as Brutus the Roman Senator, and she is about to assassinate a duck Julius Caesar! In addition, a Project Destiny Studios print advertisement will be appearing in the Friday edition of the DucKon XV Science Fiction Convention Newsletter! News: Foxee™ has her own Article on WikiFur!

An article about Foxee™ the arctic blue fox is now available for anyone to read here on WikiFur, a freely editable encyclopedia for the furry community. The article was written by Foxee's creator, Daniel Keller, and contains a detailed history about how Foxee as a character was originally created and how she has changed over the years. In addition, the article discusses all of the comic strips that Foxee has appeared in, and talks about how Foxee has been developed into a Microsoft Agent character and soon will become an animatronic robot. While this is by far the most comprehensive WikiFur article about Foxee ever written, it is by no means the first. Unbeknownst to Foxee's creator, as far back as October 2005 several of Foxee's fans on the Internet had already started a WikiFur entry about Foxee and had been maintaining it on their own. Flattered by the discovery that Foxee had been given her own article on WikiFur, Daniel Keller decided to re-write and greatly expand it so that the readers of WikiFur could have all of the information that they have ever wanted to know and probably then some about his beloved blue fox character. What does Foxee, a little cartoon arctic blue fox from the frozen wilds of Alaska, have to do with a group of three tropical coral atolls in the South Pacific? The answer to that question is that Foxee's website now has an Internet domain name from the tropical island territory of Tokelau! Tokelau, also known as The Union Islands, is a non-self governing territory of New Zealand located in the South Pacific. The island territory is famous in the Internet community for giving away Internet domain names ending with its TLD ".tk". While Foxee.Net's new www.foxee.tk Tokelau domain name was originally a free domain name that the Tokelau registrar handed out to Project Destiny Studios, we here at Project Destiny Studios wanted to support the Tokelau people and their generosity towards others with their free domain name registrations. News: Project Destiny Studios™ has Extended its "Uses Microsoft Agent Technology" logo license with Microsoft�

Last spring Microsoft� Corporation decided to discontinue its "Uses Microsoft Agent Technology" logo licensing program, no longer accepting new licenses or license renewals. Project Destiny Studios™ was a member of the program, and uses the "Uses Microsoft Agent Technology" logo on its Foxee™ Microsoft Agent Character product. This left Project Destiny Studios in the dark about whether or not it could still use the logo with Foxee, and if Foxee was going to have to be repackaged. After several months of dialogue with the Microsoft Agent Licensing Department and the Microsoft Trademark Department at Microsoft, Project Destiny Studios was able to reach a special agreement with the departments that extended Project Destiny Studios's license agreement. The new license agreement allows Project Destiny Studios to continue to use the "Uses Microsoft Agent Technology" logo on its products and website for another year.

News: A New Foxee™ Comic Strip Published in the Bloomington-Normal Indy Newspaper this Week!

The Bloomington-Normal Indy newspaper is publishing a brand new Daniel Keller comic strip this week! The new comic strip is called "Horsefeathers!™" and it is a politically-oriented spin-off of the more general humor-based Tiggerman™ comic strip. The main character of the new comic strip is Foxee™, an arctic blue fox who used to live in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, but has recently lost her home due to President George W. Bush's oil drilling policies in the refuge. Because her Alaska home was destroyed, Foxee decided that the person who ruined her home owes her a new home so she now lives in the White House causing endless trouble for George W. Bush and his dog Barney. The comic strip isn't limited to the White House setting-- she tends to comment on any social or political issue that she tends to find absurd. A Tiggerman™ comic strip starring Foxee™ will be published in the Bloomington-Normal Indy newspaper this week. The comic strip is editorial in nature, using satire to poke fun at the poor nutritional value of the food served in the Illinois State University food courts. As much as I wish that this was a laughing matter, it really isn't. The food at the University truly is as bad as this comic strip portrays, with the food items mentioned in the comic being taken straight off of one day's menu. Hopefully this comic strip will expose this problem to the public and cause the University to make some much needed changes so that they actually are serving healthy food instead of just saying that they are.
